A good friend of mine told me, after braking up with his girlfriend, that he knew she really cared about him, loved him, cherished him and did everything he wanted. However he ended up braking up with her because he said he was bored and he needed more excitment in his life. Does anybody understand this? Is it fear of commitment? Is he not ready to have a serious relationship or what? Or maybe he just wasn't in love? I just don't understand.

maybe they just got too comfortable, things became routine and he got bored. he could have tried to spice things up tho...but sometimes when things just don't feel right, better to let them go when you realize that.

one of my friends was engaged to be married when her fiance broke up with her 5 months before the wedding. his reasoning was because he felt like they had hit a plateau in their relationship and it was better to not go through with the wedding than to end up divorced 5 years down the road.

in a way it makes sense...but i think that if both put a little more effort into making the relationship the kind of relationship they want, they may not have to break up.

or, that may have just been an excuse and he wanted to see other people.

I guess what he is saying is.....He didn't want a "puppet' for a girlfriend..someone that does anything he says at the snap of his fingers.....He needs more of a challenge...more excitement.....someone who will keep him on his toes...
It also could be , he knew she wasnt the one for im...and possibly fear of commitment....but defintaely sounds like he didn't want someone that would do anything for him....

So what if she loved him, cherished him, blah blah blah. If the feelings are reciprocated that's just it. Good for him for being honest and moving on before feelings got hurt worse.
