You are trying to change eating and lifestyle habits rather than crash dieting. This may take longer but the changes will last longer term. I think 5lbs in a month isnt that bad.

I am having the same problems at the moment. I am told that sometimes exercise builds muscle which means you put on a bit of weight but you will be more toned as a result.

Eat little and often. Watch portion sizes. Watch amount of carbohydrates you are eating especially in the evening when you may not be burning as much energy.Drink plenty of water.
Eat 6 prunes a day.

Dont expect miracles. Dont give up. It also depends on your metabolism and how much weight you have to lose. I lost two stone more quickly but now weight loss has slowed down and i am finding it harder and have been maintaining more than losing. I have just started running to step things up a bit.
Running on grass is best as it is not so hard on joints. I have also started walking briskly as it depends how fast you walk.

Also bear in mind you need to eat some fat to lose fat. I cut down my proteins too much and found that made a difference.
Good luck i hope you find a solution that works!

Make sure what you're eating and drinking does not contain high fructose corn syrup. That is pure fat.

Aspartame which is used in a lot of diet drinks makes you retain water, so try not to take in any of that either.

Fruit helps you lose weight because it aids in digestion. Make sure you're getting enough fiber because it will help with getting rid of water weight.

Make sure the activities you do are burning more calories than you take in.

Change up your exercise routine every week so you don't plateau. When your body gets used to doing something regularly, it stops burning as many calories.

If you eat 4 small meals a day rather than 3 regular ones, your metabolism will speed up and you will burn weight faster.

Healthy eating and good exercise is the only way to go, if it comes off slowly it's more likely to stay off which is the best bit. good luck

Atkins worked for me lost 45lb in 3 months. Problem is you have to stay on it. Put back 30 when I came off it.

Buy a tape measure and ditch the scale. Chances are you've lost inches but gained muscle.

You have to do exercises every single day / evening.
And- it's my own experience- people are really starving after swimming! You have to reduce food after swimming, otherwise you're never gonna lose weight.
