Any death saddens me, Jerry Falwell had good intentions for his ministry, but obviously they got a bit ascewed. Some of what he said and his actions were also a bit on the radical side which myself being a Christian don't agree with what he has said or done but God will deal with him. I will be praying for his friends and family.

I think that he was a bigoted, hateful man who was very misguided and loved to preach hate.
I think he is in for quite a surprise when and if he reaches an afterlife.
I think that he caused a lot of harm to a lot of people for no good reason other than his unreasoning and superstitious hatred of people who were not exactly like him.

As my dear grandmother used to say:
"That man may well make it to heaven, but he's going to be real suprised at some of the company he'll be keeping when he gets there."
I send up a prayer that the Lord is more forgiving of Jerry than Jerry was of people with whom he disagreed.

Society, on balance, is better off without him. His brand of fundamentalism is as dangerous, ultimately, as the brand of fundamentalism practiced by the Taliban. Although there will be someone to carry on his misguided path so what does his death really matter?

Ding Dong! The Witch is dead. Which old Witch?
The Wicked Witch!
Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead.
Wake up - sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed.
Wake up, the Wicked Witch is dead.
I'll tell you what brings tears to my eyes. All the conservatives that try to justify 3,400 soldiers that died in Iraq but weep when a hateful right-winger dies.

It's only sad that he never apologized (to the people - not God) before his time was up...
Other than that... business as usual.
This is the man who believed in segregation and called Martin Luther King the "leader of the civil wrongs movement".
He spent 24 hours a day hating gay people and manipulating church goers into handing their money over to his political agendas...
John McCain would do well to stop crying and praying over this man... if he ever wants to see the oval office.

Everyones gotta go sometime.
Maybe now, we can have a little relief from his crazy over the top comments about how gays are the reason for natural disasters and terrorist plots.
I wonder if he saw himself riding on a float with a teletubby in a gay pride parade when his life flashed before his eyes on his death bed.

it's really weird. i've lived here my whole life knowing who he was. he's one of the things we're most known for here and now he's dead. weird to think about. it's also kind of weird that today in english someone mentioned how we're known for him (and other things) and then in history my teacher said something about how one of her classes thinks she hates him because she disagrees with him (she said she doesn't hate him) and then in band i hear he died today. normally no one really mentions him, but today everyone kept talking about him before they even knew he died. everyone here was always saying how he was taking over lynchburg and that he was a "dictator" etc. no one at school seemed sad about it, but they weren't happy about it, except one guy. everyone else got really annoyed with the guy for being all happy about it, which is good. i would have thought that more people at school would be happy whenever it finally happened, but i'm glad they weren't. it means that they didn't completely hate him and that they have at least some respect for him. if you think about it, lynchburg wouldn't be what it is if it weren't for him.

That is almost as good as hearing that TV Evangelists are all been exposed for the money lovers and pharasees they are.
Rich and arrogant and live lavishly. They are a good example of a pharasee.
