Hell naw don't quit. The only way to get better is to be on the field and in the weight room, and the best way to do that is to be on the team. Plus when your skills improve you might be riding the bench on the varsity squad because I'm sure the coach will remember that you quit last season. It took me til senior year to get any playing time, but when I did I rushed for over 1000 yards as 2nd string, and my team sucked. So if you love the game stick with it, you'll get better and get your chance to shine.

well you should stay it out a year. people do get injured..and if youre anywhere on the depth chart its worth it to you to stay. however, don't waste your time. you might be a baseball player or basketball player ..something other than football all together. so it might be best to spend your time preparing for another sport.
one thing for sure about football. is coaches will rarely go deep on the bench unless injuries happen or unless the team is deep. most aren't very deep-even the good schools. sooo point is..i'd walk away now because it sounds like that's what youre feeling you should do. but i also get the impression that you simply wish you could get more playing time..like you want to be part of the team. like i said. stick it out a year so you can at least say...well i tried-or in the very least you won't regret trying later in life.
stick it out-it builds character. give it a shot, try to improve..work at it. even if you don't get more playing time you'll have learned alot about yourself and hopefully built some character.

Hard to say. You really don't provide enough information here. You are a freshman, so of course you didn't get a lot of playing time. The real question is not whether or not you'll get to play, but whether or not you are willing to put in the effort to play. You are in complete control of your destiny. Work hard. Strengthen your body. Put on some weight. Work on getting faster. Study the plays. If you put in the effort, you'll be playing in no time. If you don't think you have the ability or desire to go through this much trouble, though, then you may as well quit now and not waste any more of your time. You are only wasting your time, however, if you don't put in the work necessary to succeed.

I think you should stick it out if you're really passionate about playing. There's no way to know how much stronger you'll get or how much you'll grow in the next couple years. But if you stick it out and work hard you'll build a lot of character, prove to yourself that you can do it, and that will help you in the future when you're in a situation when you don't know if you'll make it. My teams in middle school & high school JV were aweful. Over half the people quit after our freshmen season. But the next 3 years we were winning games and going deep into the state playoffs. The point is that there's no way to know what will happen. But I do know most of the people that quit our team regretted it later on.

You have to ask yourself, why am I playing football? If you really love the sport, than give it 100% and just keep on pushing forward. Chances are that you have not stopped growing yet, so it is a good bet that you will fill out a little. If you are playing football for any other reason, just quit now. I know a number of Div IA, NCAA football players who have gone on to the NFL and many, many more who haven't that have a lifetime's worth of pain and injury due to their playing days. But they loved the game and it was the sacrifice that they all made. Are you prepared to do the same? Good Luck!

If you want to play football then no, don't quit. Football will make you a physically and mentally tougher person, which in turn will help you once your out in the real world. Besides it's a good way to make some friends too.

sounds like you've already made up your mind if you would even ask this question. FOOTBALL is a very competitive sport, not your school. playing high school ball is not about making a career out of. it's about experience. football is the only reason i would go through high school again. don't give up something you may never have the chance to do again.

Do you want to play football or not? That's what you need to ask yourself.
From the attitude you express in your statement, I'd say you're not going to play again.
You have to have passion to play and want improve. Do you want to improve your game and change coaches minds about playing you?
You can make it a goal to do your best and get playing time. Challenge yourself.
Otherwise, if you'd rather be spending time doing other things, then do other things.
Don't waste time doing something that doesn't make you happy.

I was in the same situation you are right now. All I'm going to say is that if you don't love playing the sport, and if you don't see yourself doing it your senior year, find another sport.
Also, keep in mind that football might not advance your college career, but your grades in high school will.
