This DATA M outlet is connected to a LAN network, so all I do is plug the cable from the wall to my laptop and presto. I recently both me a wireless router (D-link G 54 Airpluss), and I would like to know how can I do to get internet by connecting the cable from the wall into the router. I receive signal but no internet. Can someone guide me please.

if you have a phone in your room phone D-link's helpline support it is second to none they will talk you through the setup, you will have to setup the router as your gateway,

you will need to install the router software plus your computer will need to have a wireless card installed, internally or externally and the software for that installed, so best thing is phone D-Link help line.

the help line is a free call number cost on d-link

plug the patch cable from your wall into the uplink (sometimes called internet) port on the back of the router. Make sure it's the internet one; in the D-link G54 there should be a total of 5 ports on the back of it; 4 close together; one seperate; plug the wall into the seperate port.

Then plug your computer into port 1; one of the other ports on the back of your computer, you should have internet by default at this point; you may have to right click and 'repair connection' to get this working again after you have plugged the correct cables into the correct ports.

Good luck :)

You can't use a router, you need a wireless access point.
