I mean, it's the only way I think I can tell my roommate. We never see each other. I know it's the 'sissy way' but I don't know what else to do. if so, what can i say?

It's fine. It's probably the most effective way to communicate your message. If you say it the chance of the conversation going off topic are greater. It's just a roommate, this person nothing special to you. A letter is enough.

You can write a letter but keep it short and nice. Don't drag up any past problems and you will need to give her or him a one month notice. Don't stick them will all the bills even if you want to move out right away. You will owe the roomy half the rent, half the electric, and anything else you have previously agreed to share. Good luck. Remember the letter may be shown to other people so don't write anything you don't want others to see.

You must see him sometime. A letter is to impersonal. You tell him the truth why you're moving out. Why lie?
