The Republicans are fast becoming a party of evangelical conservatives. Doesn't that scare most of you just a little?

Scares me to death, next to go will be freedom of religion and religion will be taught in school, our children will not be allowed to form original ideas. The best way to control a people is to keep them ignorant. I saw a bumper sticker the other day: Submission Accomplished

Doesn't scare me, this country was founded on the
principal of God, the ones that scare me are those that
support all of the immoral issues such as gay marriage and
abortions. The reason that I say they are immoral is
because God said it, I believe and that settles it.

Separation of Church and state is to keep the government
from dictating which religion you must follow, not that they
can't follow their own religion.

Not at all. I'm wondering why you think they are evangelical, because they believe in and uphold higher social values. Thats nonsense. As for the "Separation of Church & State", its does not exist, so nothing has happened to it.

Don't ask me I've been wondering the same thing. In the Constitution it states that you have freedom of religion which I also believe is freedom from religion. We currently have a corrupt administration, religious zealots trying to shove their s*it down our throats, it isn't so much scary as it ridiculous.

it scares me more than a little. For a county that is allegedly a "melting pot" I find that if you don't believe in in God (*Gasp*) you are totally persecuted. Just look at all the people who think that atheists should not be allowed on the religion section of Y!A.
