Now we'll find out who really belongs to the Religious Right. Get ready for specials on his life and career and his televised funeral. We'll be sick of it in a few days. I haven't answered your question, though. I am not saddened by his death. People like him scare me. He was a danger to American democracy. And just so you know, I am a Christian, but I am not one of those poor brainwashed people who will mourn Falwell.

I am sad and happy. As a proud, almost alumnus, of Liberty University I count it a joy to have been under the leadership of Jerry. He lived his life never in fear of man... only God. His legacy is one that will live on in the thousands of students, church members, and near strangers who were touched by his generosity and kindness. When you met him face to face, even for a brief moment, he made you feel like a million bucks! And after that first meeting he always remembered your name. It all seems weird to me still, every day I expect to see him in his suburban or sitting on the stage at commencement or walking around the church. But he won’t be there, at least not physically. But I am thankful for the testimony of his life, his obedience to the dream, and his dedication to the students here at liberty. And I am confident in the leadership of those who will be picking up and continuing on with his vision for Liberty Mountain. As for my comment about being happy: it is because I know he has heard "well done my good and faithful sevant" from the Lord himself. And Jerry himself would not have wanted us to mope around, because that would be time wasted that we could be doing something meaningful.

I am not deeply saddened by his death but at the same time I don't think people like you should be celebrating like that the death of a fellow human being. You can disagree with someone as I do but I certainly don't wish you or any one else death.

I think its sad that you cheer his death just because you disagree with him. I think he was a cook too, but i don't celebrate his death. Another right wing wacko will surely take his place... in this country of free speech.

I am sad that he died.
I am happy that he will no longer be spreading his message.

I will be happier when people stop saying things like this--he was still a person. Youre just trying to stir up trouble instead of using this as a chance to talk to people and learn/teach.
