You should only get a PhD if you are really driven to do research.

If you are interested in getting the degree -- then don't worry about not having a topic or an advisor yet. Most people don't start their dissertation until their third year. You still have time.

If you would quit because you can't find an advisor, then you are not very resourceful or determined. But how did you manage to get two degrees? Maybe you are just too stressed out to think clearly right now. You should consider taking a sabbatical.

Keep looking for work (if you are). If you find one, forget your Ph.D.
