I am two months pregnant and there is a family of skunks living under my house. We can't get rid of them. They often spray and ooohhh man they really make me sick with morning sickness and all. Does any one know if this extremely strong smell can harm my baby if around it atleast twice a week. First pregnancy sorry for the ignorance.

I would call animal control as well to get them out. I don't think it can really hurt you or your baby but here's what I found out about it:

"The skunk may spray a sulfur compound called N- bulymercaptan. A skunk can accurately hit a target within a range of 15 feet.

Skunk spray can cause irritation and temporary blindness if sprayed in the eyes, and, of course, smells very offensive -- but it won't cause permanent damage. If you or a pet is sprayed by a skunk, you should wash immediately with carbolic soap and water, tomato juice or vinegar."

Evict the stinky neighbors and save yourself the nausea! Good luck!

I don't think that the smell can harm you, but then again I really don't know. But you should really call animal control so that they can get them out of there. (nobody like that smell not just pregnant woman)

I don't think it will hurt the baby. Check the yellow pages for "exterminator" or "pest control" to find someone who can remove them. Remember - mama skunks make lots of little skunks.

Well the smell itself can't harm you, but not being able to eat and drink enough is not good for you or the baby.

It is time to call in a professional exterminator to trap the buggers.
