Thomas Jefferson once said: "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."
Unfortunately, there are few true patriots left in this country. A truly patriotic person is willing to stand up for his Constitutional rights without distorting them to suit his particular belief:
a) Our "right to bear arms" was never intended to let crazed gun-lovers buy whatever weapons they wanted without any registration or orientation policies. Our "right to bear arms" is intended to allow the people of this country to take up arms against an oppressive and tyrannical government;
b) Our "right to free speech" was never intended to let people spew forth with whatever vulgar four-letter words they so chose, regardless of who it offended. Our "right to free speech" allows us the opportunity to speak out against an oppressive and tyrannical government.

Benjamin Franklin once said: "When people fear the government, it is tyranny. When government fears the people, it is liberty."

LIBERTY is what true patriotism is all about - and few of us really practice such profound patriotism today. How many of us would be willing to stand up and protest against the federal government if we were faced with an army of armed soldiers ready to shoot us down??

That's PATRIOTISM - and we are much too cowardly to give up our wealthy lifestyles and all of our materialism to actually stand up for the country that we claim to love. Like lobsters languishing in a pot of lukewarm water, we won't start screaming until the water starts to boil over. Then it will be too late; we will already be subjects of a dictatorship. -RKO- 05/15/07

When presidents and high officals fund terrorism in our country, then we all say "Yea, lets Roll and get those scum" Thats patriotic right?

I mean, dissent isnt American is it? Well, not anymore!

Ask questions, then your a terrorist.

Quote the Constitution, your a terrorist.

Know your rights as an American, your a terrorist.

Where Levis and have a map in your car. Your a terrorist.

Earlier this year Murdoch admitted that he had attempted to "shape public opinion" on the war in Iraq in favour of the Bush administration.

So,is your opinion your own, or was it formed for you by the media?

"Access to YouTube, MySpace cut for soldiers --
General says 13 sites will be blocked for military worldwide"

New Hate Crimes Act which gives homosexuals special rights not given to others. Homosexuals are considered a “protected class” under the bill.

An attempt was made to add senior citizens, pregnant women, prior victims, children under 18, the unborn, court witnesses and members of our armed forces to the bill, giving them the same “protected class” given homosexuals. The Democrats defeated all amendments, reserving the “protected class” for homosexuals only.

So, now that you know some things that are going on, are you going to get all patriotic and cheer for them anyway! Argue there side, because you have no point of view of your own?

First with each other:
Have both tolerance & consideration,
forsight & wisdom,
maturity & responsibility, and respect...
for people, animals, technology...
for the world you live in.

For other countries & nature:
all of the above,
including letting by-gones be bygones,
not forcing our culture on them,
and working diplomaticly towards the good of the world.

*Tolerate NO evil.

An example:
The "ten commandments" were removed from the Whitehouse because other religions wanted their material in there too. Our gov. wanted to keep honor for our founding forefather's religion. So, to be constitutionally fair, commandments were out.
I would keep commandments in - then open a new building on site for other religions' unbiased, proven widom & ethics.

When you say, blindly following your leadership,do you mean the George Sores
CONTROLLED,news papers,radio,& tv?
That do everything they can to make this country look bad.I guess if you are one of them, then yes,you are patriotic.Like when
the arabs behead one of our people the meadia gives it a pass. But let someone in our prison system by mistake gives pork in there food, then you will see it plastered all over the (far left) papers, radio,&tv of how bad the U.S.A. is.

Daring to ask questions and hold your Government to account, even if (especially if) the Government doesn't want to answer them and tries to tell you you're unpatriotic.

Being a dissident is the ultimate in patriotism - putting country before politics.

Anyone who does without (including, ultimately ones life) in order to advance the ability of their fellow Americans to enjoy their "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".

It is definitely not someone enjoying their own "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" at the expense of their fellow Americans.
