First of all I am not a fan of any of these schools. I am a South Carolina fan and we have been mediocre at best.

If you are asking for a single season best team I would have to go with the 71 Nebraska team.

If you are talking about over history. I would have to go with Alabama. Its hard to argue with 12 national championships.

As for somebody saying Florida. They are not even in the top ten historically. They have won 2 national titles, and had never won an SEC title until 1991. Before 1990 they were the bottom of the SEC. They are very good but not great.

Like the Gator fan said I gotta go with the the 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers or the 1971 Huskers (one of the best defensive teams EVER and a very good offense)...Also the 1971 Oklahoma Sooners--yeah they lost the Nebraska game 35-31 but they had like 5 or 6 fumbles and still nearly beat one of the best teams of all-time...someone said the team who had the ball last would win the game and it was true. That Oklahoma offense was unstopable by ANY team of the day-fumbles were the only thing that could slow them down...other teams just had no idea how to stop the wishbone the Sooners employed...they had nearly everyone trying to run the wishbone or at least the option...BTW-I'm not a Sooner or Husker fan (although I used to consider the Sooners my 2nd favorite team because I liked any team who could beat or nearly beat Nebraska...I am a Georgia Bulldog.

ninety 5 Huskers palms down. the '01 huskers have been overvalued and have been given overwhelmed by applying Miami 37-14. The ninety 5 huskers probobly would have had it any different way around. They weren't basically a run team. it is the wonderful thing approximately it. that they had stunning receivers and whether Tommie Frazier could not hit 'em (which he nonetheless did properly), backup Brook Berringer became into spot on and would have had a valuable NFL occupation had he not died in a airplane crash in the past the draft after that season. Their protection became into rock good too. i think of the 04 trojans would have met their tournament, however the ninety 5 huskers would have manhandled a powerhouse. The huskers beat an excellent Florida team by applying approximately 40 factors. usc 04 beat an overvalued Oklahoma team notably undesirable. ninety 5 Huskers beat 04 Trojans 35-14

I'm a Gator and saw Nebraska kick our butts 62-24 in our first National Championship in Phoenix, January1996. That 1995 Nebraska team was the best I have ever seen and could have beat half of the NFL that year with Lawrence Phillips and Tommy Frazier. I think it was the 1995 Cornhuskers.

I'm an LSU fan, but that 2004 USC team may have been one of the best teams ever assembled as far as talent goes.
