Well it won't mean much other than it is news. Rev. Falwell had been a bit marginalized in recent years by taking more extreme positions that other conservatives and people of faith were not willing to follow him on.

Lot's of people died today. Many of them were much greater than Jerry Falwell. What this means for America is one less hypocrite telling the rest of the world what to do.

I respect that some people will grieve when anyone dies and they have my sympathy. As a Christian, I think they deserve support and compassion.

But I totally disagree with Falwell's fundamentalism and redneck politics. He distorted my faith and its teachings which puts compassion above laws and legalism. He hurt minority groups (e.g., gays) and he reduced compassion a rigid, single issue focus on abortion.

Nothing. Half of us could care less about him. The other half will easily find a replacement. He'll be a thorn in the side of people trying to watch tv or read the news for a week, and then have little impact at all.

I just can't feel the least bit of sympathy for the man; he was mean and unkind, and he hurt a lot of people with his words. Good riddance; one less sorce of hot air and global warming...
