i have two black widow tetra, and wanted to know what the right conditions for them to lay eggs?

how will i know if one is pregnant?

Black widows should really spawn in a group of 5 or more. Most breeders usually go for 6. You really need to breed them in a separate tank from any other fish and have it set up specifically for breeding the tetras. Otherwise the parents and any other fish in the tank will eat the eggs. The females are generally lazrger than the males and less intense in coloration. When well conditioned and full of eggs, the females will look quite plump in the belly. The eggs are fertilized after being laid, so both male and female must be in the tank during spawning.
