I'm 14 weeks and already starting to show when I wear my normal clothing. I'm a very petite girl, only 5'1 and 100lbs. I'm planning on going home to Louisiana visit my family durning the summer. I live in Alaska and don't have ANY summer clothing due to the cooler weather here. I need to know if I should buy maternity clothing or just normal clothing. I've notice that the past two weeks my bellie has been growing a bit faster. What do ya'll think?

With my first pregnancy I started wearing maternity clothes around 18 weeks. With this pregnancy I started wearing maternity clothes at only 9 weeks! I wore a size 3 before conceiving, so I started showing a lot faster, plus the second time around the muscles in your tummy are stretched out a bit so your tummy will give in faster. Good luck! ;)

Though I could still fit in normal clothes at 13-15 weeks I got maternity clothes, so that I would be more comfortable!!!

You might get some maternity clothes items and a few larger size regular items!!! That way you get the best of both worlds!

if you're only wearing it for a visit, then you can buy larger regular clothing as long as it's comfortable. there are certain maternity items i bought at jc penney's and old navy that were comfy from the first sign of a bump to even after the pregnancy. if you're super excited to show off your belly, buy some maternity items. if you don't feel like someone noticing your growing self, them buy looser clothing. By the end of my 1st pregnancy (it was November in Iowa), i was wearing capris and sandals in the snow, so maybe maternity clothes weren't such a bad idea. good luck!

That would depend on how long you are going to be visiting. Honestly maternity wear is fairly more expensive that regular clothes. Depending on your budget I would recommend just buying a few things a size larger than you are wearing now. Don't spend a lot of money on maternity clothes this early.

A lot of stores make maternity clothes that you can wear now and also when you are bigger. I am small to so what I did was shop at regular stores but I bought larger sizes and that got me through a lot of my pregnancy before I needed maternity clothes.

I would say that you should start wearing maternity clothing as soon as you see/feel the need to. You should get them if you are going to a warmer climate for the summer because you will want to be comfortable. If you are starting to show, you might start getting bigger a lot faster.

I would just pick up some cheap shorts/ tshirts/tanks from a wal mart or target in a bigger size than you normally wear. If you buy maternity now, anything but a small will be too big.
