how can i uninstall the current corrupted one?
as each time i proceed to download any older version as IE 6.0.x it shows "setup can't continue because there is a newer version installed"
so how can i get a good the latest IE as far as possible to download and install?

you have to reinstall it from your windows xp installation CD or upgrade the whole system or you can buy a mixed software CD including Internet tools and install older versions from it ,it will be automatically upgraded by windows auto-update.

Uninstall 7 and it will automatically roll back to 6
