I know women are and that's why we're constantly trimming, plucking, waxing, shaving, etc and etc. Honestly, I don't think guys have to worry about anything but facial hair because it is quite noticeable and expected by society to maintain groomed.
What are your thoughts?

I would say that the average man is more self-conscious about the hair on his head than anywhere else.

Some exceptionally hirsute guys are self-conscious of hair on their backs and necks and try to keep that shaved, at least so it does not show when they are wearing a shirt. Men who have thick chest hair may trim it back altogether or at least shave it away from their neckline.

When a man is around other men, he usually is not as self-conscious of about any perceived untidiness about his body hair as he would be around a woman.

In general, men tend to be pretty concerned about their beards and mustaches and keep them trimmed.

Some men are self-conscious if they have hairy legs and tend not to wear summer shorts.

And then there are some men who are smooth and wish they had more body hair.

Hope this helps you.

I'll admit that I make an effort to maintian two seperate eyebrows. Other than that.. Not really. I'm pretty hairy, but I usually joke that I'm half werewolf or something like that.

I know plenty of guys that are, though. They shave their legs, arms, underarms, shoulders/back (if need be) and chests in addition to their faces. I think it's just a bit funny that they might be the ones to teach thier daughters how to shave their legs. Hahaha... Kind of funny.

I think very few MEN are. But BOYS really seem to freak out about this one sign of puberty. The guys who want to de-hair their whole bodies usually get over it by 16 or 17, thank goodness.

I wear a beard because it's low maintenance. I think men are vain when it comes to signs of aging, and hair (or loss of hair) is one of the first signs. I've got a little bald spot forming on the top of my head, but hey, life happens. I'm not going to sweat it, and I'm actually beginning to enjoy being a lil salt n pepper colored.

Depends what age. Younger teens seem to worry a lot, like myself. I hate going swimming cause im hairy, its annoying to me. Some people dont care, some people laugh. It gets quite annoying. Actually, it seems people who dont know me at all laugh at me, or just dont see who i am. My friends don't care anymore, i actually make jokes cause im arab and of course every arab is hairy (joke...) but like im self concious cause im alone, a 14 year old with chest hair and a lot of leg/arm hair. well I'm "big" so thats nice, lol.

I guess it just depends on the guy. I know a guy who says that his one and only insecurity is the hair on his chest.
