My theory has always been that most pop is for people who enjoy music, but aren't interested in looking deeper. I think it is seen as too much of an endictment when people like us who pursue the music we like outside of the mainstream look at people who listen to the radio, find something they like and just roll with it. It's just different sets of interests or depth of interest, and there is nothing wrong with that. As far as MTV goes, I just don't get it. They don't even play whole songs anymore. I don't get it at all.

I don't listen to current pop music or watch MTV. I used to listen to pop music, but that was ages ago. Now, I just buy CD of people or groups I like. Or watch TV.

The kind that are brainwashed by the media and the kind that just wanna watch (staged) reality television. MTV rocked back in the day, even pop rocked back then! Now it's just too horrible to even think about it.

I listened to pop and watched MTV back in the 80's. Now both are pure crap!

mtv sucks. the only thing on there worth watching is viva la bam. what happened to mtv playing videos? now all they play is rap and crap. i spend more time watching vh1 classic, with videos that are older than i am because it's more enjoyable.

I dislike pop music but I watch MTV, MTV2, Vh1, and my number one fave FUSE!!! I watch it for the music. Nothing else.

really i have no clue i dont like pop... i listen to classic rock
and as for the MTV thing... all i ever see on there is shows about people going on blind dates and crap like that...

MTV has all the latest hits, it's the best next to VH1. Pop music is really cool, it basis itself off of other genres that are much better. I don't think pop is best, but it's a crappy stereotype to say chicks and cool guys are the only ones that listen to it.

i used to watch mtv when they actually played videos. i can't think of the last time i actually saw a video on there. i'm not staying up till 3 am to watch a video
