Why would you want to uninstall ie, if you have moved onto opera or mozilla just ignore it and delete the shortcuts. besides you cant uninstall ie as its a part of your system. if you select uninstall in the control panel it doesnt really do it the program remains in program files. further ever noticed the similarities between ie and the file explorer, type in an internet address next time your viewing your files in the address bar and presto its ie. Simple answer you cant uninstall ie. outlook express does also use some of the files needed for ie.
hope this helps

No you couldn't run Outlook Express if you uninstalled Internet Explorer, you couldn't run Windows Explorer either, which would make you're computer pretty much useless which I imagine is the reason why it is not possible to uninstall Internet Exporer.

I really would not suggest bothering with Internet Explorer and all. Simply delete the shortcuts in the Program Menu and on your Desktop. Some day you might need it again for IE only websites (such as Microsoft Update) and getting IE back on the computer is much harder than getting it off.
