If you are having a herpes outbreak in your genitals when you go into labour there is a chance you will pass it on. If you have an outbreak near term you will have to discuss the risks of a vaginal delivery vs the risks of a c-section. You should do your own research as well as doctors tend to downplay the risks of c-sections.

If you only have herpes around your lips or somewhere else there is no chance of passing it on during labour. However you can pass it on after delivery and you should discuss this with your doctor. The best thing of course is to always wash your hands before touching the baby, and avoid touching any open sores.

there is no vertical transmission. means during pregnancy u dont pass it to baby by blood. but at the time of delivery you can pass it to baby. so C-section is good if you are still infected at time of delivery. go to doctor and get treated herpes first.

There is a very high chance of passing it on to the baby during delivery. Most generally, you will have to have a C-section to prevent this.

Yes, you could pass it to your baby if you have any active lesions during labor and childbirth. Your dr. may prescribe antivirals for you to prevent that from happening.

yes. you can pass the disease if you have a normal delivery, that is if you deliver your baby passing through the vagina. but you can prevent this through Caesarian type of delivery.
