American women first got the right to vote in Wyoming territory in the 1870s and that was carried over into statehood in 1890. The right to vote in national elections wasn't gained nationwide in the USA until the 1920s.

It depends where you are talking about.

The Iroquois Indians had the right to vote when the British colonists arrived in America. Caucasian women in the USA received the right to vote in 1920. African-American women, effectively didn't receive the freedom to vote regularly until the 1960s. In strict Islamic countries women often do not have the right to vote today. It's all about time and place, as is all of history.
