Someone warned Bernard to mind that he didn't burn his fingers with the fireworks.

Indirect speech uses a different verb tense and optionally, you can interject the word "that.' This is really a tricky one though. You can rewrite the sentence as a DIRECT speech like this: Bernard said, "Do not burn your fingers...."

"Bernard said that I should not burn my fingers with the fireworks" - this might work as indrect.
