A good point, but I hope you're wrong.
Given the way some people act in here, I would certainly hope that they do not display the same behaviour in real life.

I act the same. I don't care what others think. & yes many people do act differently on the internet & online, etc.. because that's basically a way to "hide" yourself. Some people will be like well i'm 5'8 with brown hair & blue eyes, senstive towards others & always there for a loved one. Then you meet them & they are 5'8 with brown hair & blue eyes, but a jerk & don't care about anyone but themselves. This is why you have to be careful on the internet. You never know what you can get yourself into on here.

When im online its easier for me to express the inner me than face to face with a person cuz im shy,but other than that i think 70% of the way ppl act online is in their real life personality!!

i think the way people act online a lot of the times is the way they wish they could act freely without any judgement. It's easier to say and do things when you aren't being looked at.

A little bit of both, like in dreams: some are compensating for what you'd like to be, some are just your real life processed. But it's a good question.
Being invisible to the rest of the community sets you free and many inhibitions disappear.

I think you can tell who is actually true to them selves and who isn't. There are times I do hold back, but then there have been several times I cross the line, showing the real me more than I am even comfortable with... NO one but my hubby and people here, know me this well.... Here it is easy because I don't know anyone face to face... LOL!

I act the same where ever I am, I mean, if someone likes you for what you are pretending to be then they don't really like you. At least that's the way I have always viewed it.

Well me personaly... i find it easier to express myself online 'cause i dont seem to care what people think about me! This way i guess you see the real me. But either way i guess you'll never really know the person until you meet them in person.

I am me whether online or not. However, some see the internet as a way to be the someone they want to be or the someone they want to try to be for a while.
