If you have ever ever had a chance of storing anything personal on the computer then it is well within your interest to destroy the hard drive to smithereens! PLEEZE consider doing so!!!

Consider if you registered your windows xp and activated it. Your windows copy that came with the computer is useless to another user.
As the others have said a restore cd is the best choice.

If you still have the original restore CD, then you can 'restore' your system which will result in erasing everything back to default.

Re-load windows xp onto it and reformat the whole hard drive. everything will be erased and all settings will be bak to default windows xp mode.

go to accessories, then system tools, choose system restore
