Price gouging is the name of the game anymore. Its not only that way for oil. There are few restrictions on anything for corporations under a republican administration. Look at prescription drugs. The prices are out of this world.
Aren't we responsible enough as citizens to restrict our own oil. Is everybody still driving their SUV's everywhere? Not me.

Bush really isn't an oil man. His venture in the oil business was a bust, although his father was successful many years ago. Maybe that explains it. (Or uh, maybe demand has gone up?)

Yeah, you would think he'd be doing everything possible to increase market share for domestic oil companies. So much for libs' theories of an oil company conspiracy.

Hey Bill Clinton had 8 years to do something about oil independence. Wouldn't we be in better position now had he done something about it?
But the truth is...I don't blame Bill Clinton. I just said all that to make you see how dumb your question really is.

Because that's how "oil men" make their money--They import it and charge astonomical fees to refine it and sell it here! And, of course, MONEY is the bottom line--not ecology, not what it might do to the American people, not the fact that oil is finite....money, the root of all evil!
