I answer as honestly as possible, even when I'm certain that I'm guaranteeing I won't get Best Answer. I like to have integrity about my answering.
The funny thing is, I have many times thought that I would get Best Answer and didn't, and many times have been very surprised that a not-so-great answer was chosen as "best."
I don't think it's really possible to "bluff" and get best answer. If I am surprised by what someone answers I go right to their profile and read their Q&A, and especially their "Best Answers." Yahoo!Answers is not quite as anonymous as some would think....

Yes, I do mean what I say. Sometimes I get out of balance and carried away and have to second guess myself. I like helping people and talking about reforming the religious right. I get a kick out of being so damned opinionated and getting away with it. Somebody stop me! I'm an Aries!

I am always truthful in my answers that is usually mixed with humor, but truth nonetheless. Some people don't want to hear the real truth, and are only seeking answers that they hope to be true. But I always appear to get Bad Rating.

I really mean it. I don't base my answers on trying to get the best one. It's always a nice surprise when I do.

I was wondering about that too! Usually when ppl use long drawn out answers that seem fake I don't pick them. I'm usually sarcastic, or I give really honest answers. I never fake anything.

I just answer honestly most of the time. I never try for Best Answers. I just let them come as they come.
