i got a percent purity of 121%, is this possible? i think i have made a mistake?

Yes, you have made a mistake - there is no way that anything can be greater that 100% anything.

Many times students get over 100% purity....
In reality it's not possible.
Most of the time it's human error or equipment error.
This is why early experimenters performed experiments many, many times before making any conclusions.
You're limited to 1 try and it doesn't always come out the way you plan.
I've done labs for 30+ years and I still get some that don't work the way they should.

I have said it in ur prev question assuming that ur typing a question from a book.
Now, since u r actually performing it in lab its quite natural ( human error).

I think that the benzoic acid sample was quite pure & u got some human errors in measurements.

Try to conduct the expt again.

reaction yields and purity of a compound cannot be abover 100%.
