I had problems getting pregnant also and wanted my children before I was 30 as well. When my first daughter was only four months old we started trying and got pregnant with our second daughter daughter when she was 9 months old. Then we went ahead and tried for our third child when our second was only 6 months old and got pregnant when she was 11 months old with our 3rd daughter. I had no problems with my c-section scar from previous surgeries and their were no complications at all. All of my children were by c-section and they all came out healthy. It is very hard the first few years having them so close together but, at least I have my family and now that they are getting older I am glad I made that decision to have them that way.

You can get a second opinion. My OB advised me to wait 6 months before ttc again. It took me 9 months to conceive my daughter (with fertility meds), so he may have taken that into consideration, but I don't think so. I breastfed my daughter for the first year, so we had planned on waiting a year. We actually started ttc again when our daughter was 10 months. Since we were not able to conceive on our own, I went back on the fertility meds at 12 months when I was done nursing. Another 6 months later we finally conceived again. My daughter will be 27 months when her new baby brother arrives. I've read that it's good for babies to be at least 18 months before a new baby arrives because it gives them a chance to be the baby long enough and doesn't feel as much animosity towards the new baby. As far as for the c-section healing. It might have something to do with the way the incision was made. I have heard that an up and down incision (on the uterus itself - not necessarily the outer incision) can rupture more easily than a sideways incision. Your doctor's malpractice insurance might advise him to tell women with c-sections to wait longer. I've been reading more and more about how hospital policies (also ruled by insurance) and insurance are setting many rules about how doctors perform various procedures.

i had a c-section 3 years ago, i was told to wait 12 months before having another child, i'm not sure if this gap has changed in 3 years or if it's still the same!
also it's much easier to get pregnant in the first year after having a baby, you are far more fertile then!
if you tried in 8 months and got pregnant straight away you will have an almost 2-year gap between children anyway so i would carry on with your plans.
also it's only a guide when you are told to leave gaps between sections, i know a girl from work had a section and got pregnant by accident straight after and she was fine, she just had to be monitored more oftern!
get another doctor's opinion if your worried, i think they are only guide-lines
best of luck!

If it took you that long to get pregnant, I'd think it was okay, but I'm NOT a doctor. I have had 2 sections, they were 2 years and 7 1/2 months apart. But, if I were you, if it takes you about a year to get pregnant, usually, start trying when the baby is one, so if it does take you a year to get pregnant, it will be a safe amount of time between. Good luck!

Well for me i had my son as a c-section and got pregnant 2 months later and had my daughter 11 months after my 1st c-section. The doctors said nothing to me about waiting. I then got pregnant again when my daughter was 2 and had my third c-section. My last and final one. The main concern of doctors is making sure you have time to heal it is very stressfull on that part of the body to go through that so close. But i had no problems and healed very quickly and was up and about by the time i went home with all my pregnancies. They ask you wait but you do as you feel your body can handle. I know of some women who had 6 c-sections in 6 years. So it can happen! In my case i had three c-sections in 4 years.

It's best to wait a year. However, I have a 3 yr old, a 11 mt old and I'm due any day with a new baby and they will all be born by c-section. Depending on your situation, you might be able to have a vaginal birth next time around.

I had a csection with both of mine but they were 2 1/2 years apart. My doc too said at least two years between them so it gives your body time to heal completely.

My first toddler advance into born July 1995 via C section. My 2nd toddler advance into born via C section in January 1997. there have been no problems what so ever. Our scientific expert even tried to cut back alongside/close to an analogous scar from first C section to cut back scarring.. in the time of my 2nd being pregnant or perhaps in the scientific institution and in hard paintings, we had meant for a VBAC yet chosen to no longer. there advance into no problems what so ever ...
