A major misconception for non Pakistanis and Pakistanis alike is that Pakistan was part of India. As a matter of fact, for the history of mankind, Pakistan for most part was either occupied by Persians or by Mongols or was locally populated (Moenjodaro, etc.).

Pakistan, for the record, got its independence before India got her independence.

I think you are asking that like UK is a motherland to Canada, what is Pakistan's motherland. Well, no country really. Pakistan has no recognition of any country being its mother country. Unofficially, I would have to say, Greece (Alexendar the Great), Persians, Afghans, and Central Asia.

Under Moghul Empire, Pakistan briefly became part of India before Britain occupied both Pakistan and India and treated it as a single entity.
