The mattress below the mattress that you are sleeping on is not providing enough support. You could do one of 3 things: remove the second mattress so that the floor provides more support, place a board between the two mattresses if you want to keep the current height of your bed, or, find a free or cheap box spring on CraigsList. This may not solve your sleeping problem, however, if the top mattress is just plain old and broken down inside. It will be cheaper to try one of the above suggestions before you invest in a new mattress, though. Oh, a caveat: there has been an increase in bedbug infestations in areas across the country, so if you do purchase a used box spring, check it out thoroughly! (corners, seams and underneath) A final point, unless you are a petite adult, a lot of us find sleeping on twin-size beds uncomfortable no matter how nice the mattress!

Actually I flipped it Saturday. Most people do not think to do it at all and then complain about back problems. I flip mine on average 1 - 2 times every 3 months.

The wife and I broke the bed frame during a heated session so we flipped the mattress after replacing the frame last weekend.

No I have a water bed, but if I had a regular bed the mattress would have to be extra soft and I would flip it occasionally.
