I can't think of a single terrorist that is going to carry anything that an x-ray machine will pick up. I'm willing to be that the next "problems" we are going to face are biohazards and last time I checked, zip-lock baggies don't show on an x-ray.

If X-ray scanners weren't so hazardous to people (too much radiation =cancer) then I would say it's fine, use it if it will prevent incidents such as 911. However, X-ray scanners are hazardous to humans therefore nobody with half a brain would ever allow these instruments to be implemented. Besides if they would pay closer attention to who they let into our country , we wouldn't have half as many issues with terrorists and illeagal alians!

I am for security! But to use if they have a reasonable doubt. Use discretion...(example)..... If someone goes through the security gate and rings the alarm, then use it.
But to use it on every last American going on a plane, or crossing the street. That is a bit too much.
I see why they want to use a X-ray machine and it is a great idea but they need to use smarts about it too.

It is going too far, though I'm more concerned about the constant exposure to x-ray radiation!
There a guidelines that doctors follow, regarding how much exposure a person should have at any given time. If they plan to have them running 24/7, that is unconscionable.
Can you imagine the spike in chromosome abnormalities, cancer, and radiation poisoning? It'd be no different than if a dirty bomb had been detonated.

No, check around. Most reputatble companies would charge about $20-$25/month for your basic monitoring on a 2 or 3 year contract. The equipment is usually provided.

Seems to me that if we would just "secure our borders" then we wouldn't have to be strip searched at the airports or worry about x-ray machines on our streets......
Doesn't make much sense to keep guard around the chicken coup yet let anyone and everyone run freely around the barn yard.

Sure, lock us all up and throw away the key to protect us.
I'll keep my freedoms and take my chances rather than live under some totalitarian style govt any day.
Home security= power grab.

I find it objectionable as Xrays have a cumulative effect. This could be serious for women who are pregnant as chromosome damage is the most likely event if someone is pregnant. NO amount of Xray is safe for a developing embryo or fetus.
