LMAO, I vividly remember them being pulled from the shelves back then. My sister had one, and I knew even then at the tender age of preteen that there was NO WAY IN HELL I was gonna pi*ss off my sister because those things looked lethal!

Ha!

Yes, I remember them. They were just two acrylic balls at the end of a string. If you moved your hand with the correct motion they would repeatedly bounce off of each other with a loud

I caught my fingers several times between those things before handing them back to the owner.

I don't recall them being pulled from the shelves. They were not nearly as dangerous as Lawn Darts. My grandparents had a set of those and even when I was only four or five I could tell they were not something to mess with: giant plastic darts with a sharp metal point.... let's give them to the kids to play with! :D

i was born in the fifties our lethal toys were much more dangerous we were ignorant then...brightly coloured lead-based paints on all the toys and sleeping in cots with the same! I remember the spud guns Pat! We had a great time with those and miraculously no-one lost an eye! But they hurt like mad on the cheeks or bare arms and legs :-)

We had them they were two big ball on strings connected by a ring at the top......you moved thme up and down and tried to make them clack together. You counted how many you could get in a row. They did make a dang good weapon when the neighborhood boys were aggravating me. The balls were red clear made out of resin or something.

Yep, I remember them. They were two marbles on opposite ends of a string type thingy. Nothing screamed "weapon disguised as a toy" quite like them. Plus, the noise those things made was irritating enough to p*** off the pope.

We are showing our age by remembering those dadblasted things!

I don't know about lethal, but they sure as hell hurt when they whacked your wrist or forearm.

I still have a set stashed away somewhere.

OMG I totally remember those, I had one!!! Two hard plastic balls at the end of strings and you have to get them going really fast up and down to hit them together to make the noise. I remember getting huge bruises on my elbow from getting smacked by them. Thanks for the memory
