Usually the coffins are not guaranteed or if they are it's only for a short time. The vaults (the vault goes in the ground and then the coffin goes into that) are usually what's guaranteed. Obviously they don't say lifetime guarantee, but they usually have a 15, 20 or 25 year guarantee against leaks, breakage, etc. Of course, I think this is just for piece of mind for the person buying the coffin and vault, as unless something extraordinary happens and the grave has to be dug up, who would know if the vault leaked or cracked.

This sounds like it should be line from an Alanis Morrisette Song: "Isn't it ironic?"

As an attorney, I would wonder what the terms of the guarantee are. Is the guarantee good in the afterlife? And who word enforce the guarantee....a heavenly or earthly court? Whose lifetime measures the length of the warranty?

Technically, the scope of the warranty depends on how it is written. Like most lawyers, I have to answer questions with more questions.

yes some coffins have a "lifetime" guarantee. some contracts clearly states that it will last for three generations, at the average rate of 35 years per generation. i did research on it cause after i read this question i was curious. so there you go.
