I'm pregnant and had to leave work a couple of hours before the end of my shift as I wasn't feeling too well. Will my employer still pay me? Thanks

I ended up passing out and got sent home by my manager. I do not expect any special treatment just because I am pregnant, however I have read somewhere that if you need to leave work early for a antenatal appointment they cant refuse to allow you to go and still have to pay you. I also read that if there are disciplinary rules related to sick leave, pregnancy related sickness must be excluded. Cheers

They should pay you for the hours you worked. If you don't have sick time, you won't get paid for the two you didn't work. Did you get permission to leave?
Good luck! :)

Depends on your company. Do you get sick-time?Personal time?
Just because you are pregnant, it doesn't give you any special privileges.
If you left early-unless you are on salary or have sick-time to use- or your daddy owns the company--you will get docked.
If they FIRE you because you are pregnant, you can sue, but they CAN fire you for taking off too much work.
They hired you to work, not take off. If they had wanted you pregnant, they would have advertised for that.
What if you took off work because you had pneumonia and were coughing so hard you pulled a muscle in your back? Or broke your leg in a car accident? What would happen?
Call your HR department and get a copy of your employees' manual. Anything you don't understand, ask them! Ask until you understand.
That is what their job is.

I dont' think so, unless you worked from home, came in 2 hours early or can use sick or personal time to make up the absense from work.
Would you pay a babysitter the whole shift pay if they left 2 hours before you came home to get the kids?

Leaving 2 hours early for that reason, you will more than likely not get paid for those hours. That's just how most employers will be, sorry. I know how important it is to have the money, but if you leave early, you pay the consequence of not getting paid.

If you are an hourly employee, you will only be paid for the hours you worked, unless your boss agreed (prior to your leaving for the day) to pay "sick-time" for the remaining hours.
If you are a salery employee, your boss can deduct pay if a certain amount of time is missed. Check your states employment laws.

Probably not unless you bring it to his attention and depending what type a person your boss is, you may have to threaten lawsuit. I'm not sure of the details but there are laws like this for mothers and mothers to be where if you are sick during your pregnancy they have to allow you to leave early, I'm not sure about pay though. It's somthing in there with the maternity leave laws.

Depends on your level in the company and really on your employer's generosity.
If you get on well with your employer and have shown in the past that you don't mind staying around longer to help and going the extra mile, they will hopefully do the same for you.
However legally they don't have to pay you if you go home early.
But if they knew you were sick, you may get sick pay.

I would think it would fall under "sick pay". For example if you catch a cold and are too sick to work your company may pay you sick pay. However some employers may not view pregnancy as sick. It's a crapshoot. I would hope you would get paid, though.

They should and will pay you for the hours you worked. But you will not get paid for the hours you didn't work unless you either have a salary job, or an unusually nice employer.

If you have sick pay they might, but I know whenever I have to leave work for pregnancy related sickness I do not get paid.
