"The Muppet Movie." That was the first movie with the Muppets.

Actually, this was the plot of 2 movies. One (The Muppets go Hollywood) was made for TV and the other (The Muppet Movie) was a theatrical release.
The first one was more or less where they were going from their normal TV show to Hollywood, the other was a "before they were famous" movie showing how The Muppet [TV] Show got started.
My bet is the one you are looking for is The Muppet Movie, although the other answer is also correct.
