It depends on your criminal history and what type of job you're looking for. I mean, if you're looking for a job with special ed. kids and you were convicted of a child related crime... I think you're out of luck in all 50 states...

Whatever you do, don't try to hide it (you can be refused because you lied & have no recourse). If you are denied employment, ask what the process is to appeal & follow it thru. Depending on the circumstances you may or may not be successful....maybe qualify for a job where you don't work directly with children.
