how can i unlock my old cingular phone to use a different simcard?

i heard about a website where you pay a few dollars and they email you a code and directions on putting it in your phone or something like that? i recently switched to suncom, but i really like my cingular phone better. someone please help!!!!!!! an could u give me step by step instructions ?

Take it to a wirless store. They can unlock the phone on a computer program. The electronic serial number must be yours. Bring proof if you purchased ... then you can have service again.
