I always did bleieve in myself, from the time I was seven.
I was born without a sense of other people. I had to learn to get along with them, in spite of them. I have always decided things and expected to have to learn how to evaluate situations and choose goals for myself.
I suppose that's what saved me from becoming what nearly everyone else did--irresponsible about doing the necessary and dishonest about acknowledging what they really knew and only thought they knew.
My desire to know the whole truth drove me to find what a scientific definition-- a true categorizing understanding of anything--must be.
That search alone would have put me among the best thinkers on planet; the fact that with Ayn Rand I found that definition and applied it to a thousand fields makes me the best there ever was.
That's a responsibility, as well as an achievement.
But all you or anyone else will have to do to do just as well in your thinking is to be totally honest about what you know as a science and what you don't know that well. Life is as simple as that.
The rest is finding a way to survive in a nation where corrupt leaders neither know the answer to that question nor even ask the question.

I used to believe in myself much more and know that I was the best but something has happened to my self esteem over the last two years. I think about this all the time and I am working on it. Marriage has turned me back into an unsure little girl, but I recognize it in myself and am working on it. I got to get my mind right (again)!

Yes, I believe in myself. In the end I know that no matter what I'm the one who knows what's best for me.
I know who I am and what I want to do.

I absolutely believe in myself. Other than my mother, I'm the only person I totally trust.

Yes. But I can only be the best that I, myself, can be. Not the whole world.

Yes. I give myself peptalks whenever I get frustrated. My dad taught that 'can't never could,' so I've applied that mentality into my whole life.
