Sometimes you find things like Advil or Tylenol for sale at Flea Markets, past the expiration date. Is it safe to use or will it work at all or is it bad for you?

beneficial to the buyer. they are not as effective when expired and may not work.

I wouldn't risk it. And the people who are selling medicine at flea markets are doing so illegally.

Manufactuer. I've heard that most meds have a WAY longer shelf life than the experation date say they do.

It is a sell by date. I have been told by my Dr. that medicine up to two yrs old is ok. unless it is something that needed to be refrigerated, it should be ok.
