if not a Land Rover then what would be a good buy for a mid-sized SUV

Land Rovers are notorious for breaking down at about 80k. I am amazed that the one you are looking at still runs at 150k. It doesn't have much life left in it. Besides, Land Rovers are some of the highest cost to maintain of all SUV's on the market. They are not a great deal when they are new. At 150k, that thing is running on borrowed time.
If I were you, I would save my money for something more dependable.

Land Rovers are the best 4X4 in the world. If properly serviced, they will go on for ever. Don't know if it's a good deal as I live in the UK. I'm on my 4th Land Rover - at present i run a diesel Discovery.
