I reckon that a lot of the fat people I know are jolly (love your perfect choice of word) as a sort of front to maybe hide their insecurities. You know, like laughing first because then people are laughing with you and not at you.
Then again, everyone is different and not everyone who is fat is jolly. And vice versa.
I'm not a fat jolly person (I think) so I am not very good at being inside a fat jolly person's head.

Can't say I've ever met a jolly fat person. Most that I know are more bitter about their struggle to lose the weight. Being overweight myself I know that joy is the last thing I feel when I'm getting dressed in the morning, smothered by every article of clothing I put on. I'm working on it though. :)

Are you kidding me? A couple of weeks ago, someone asked "why are fat people so mean?" So, which is it? Jolly or mean?
Truth is, people are people. Mean, jolly, cruel, nice, etc. They come in all sizes, too.

They are fat and just happen to be jolly. Thin people are jolly too.

Because people aren't (or rather are, depending how you look at it) going to judge them on their looks, so they make up for it in personality.
But then I know quite a few very mean spirited fat people, probably because they think everyone's going to be mean to them so they might as well get there first.
It's a generalisation, I'm always jolly but I'm certainly not fat!

i doubt they are all jolly - but maybe its coz they are less worried about their weight and just enjoy life to the full?

maybe they are jolly because there over weight. and if they act happy people wont look at there weight and just look at there personality...thats my guess ..

Because they project a larger than life comedic personality to compensate and draw attention away from the huge feelings of insecurity and self loathing that they are afraid to admit to themselves.

NOT ALL OVER WEIGHT PEOPLE ARE HAPPY. YOU HEARD OF LAUGHING ON THE OUTSIDE AND CRYING ON THE INSIDE, I THINK IT DEPENDS ON ONES AGE. OLDER PEOPLE MAY BE TRULY HAPPY IN THEIR OWN BODIES, REGARDLESS OF THE WEIGHT THEY ARE CARRYING BECAUSE THEY HAVE LIVED THU MANY TRIALS IN THEIR LIVES SO THEIR WEIGHT IS NO LONGER A BIG ISSUE TO THEM, LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!!!!!!!!!
