You are 100% correct Mike Vick has a big name thats it, he should learn how to throw or just give up and become a wide reciever. After him there are a few more overrated QB's:
Eli Manning- 1st round bust cant make the big throws in the big games
Tony Romo- plays great for a few games and than flops when it counts
J.P. Losman- ENOUGH SAID

I don't think its Vick--not that he's accomplished that much, more that the press didn't hype him as much last year. My vote is for Eli Manning. First, deciding that he was too good to be a Charger and getting a starting job got him in the spotlight and his older brother made him a media darling. The jury is still out--Eli could turn out to be a good quarterback, but at this point in his career he gets as much press as Peyton without even being in the top half of quarterbacks.
Vick--I think they need to get a football genius to re-write the playbooks around him. When I watch, it seems they just can't think outside the box and figure out what kind of plays would use his skills best. He doesn't have the skills to run normal quarterback plays, so you see his best stuff on a busted play. Even his planned runs look like any QB draw. What I'm saying is they need to quit trying to make him a traditional quarterback, and figure out better rollouts and runs to use him effectively. Someone needs to come up with a new way to play the position for Vick, and he could be great.

Tony Romo. They were hyping this guy up before he even touched an NFL field in a meaningful game. And exactly what the hell has he done? Why was he a Pro Bowl QB? Dallas isn't buying the hype since they considered drafting Brady Queer. Roethlisberger was overrated, but last season, he was exposed for what he really was. Matt Schaub is overrated. You mentioned Michael Vick, well Schaub's career numbers (although in limited action) are WORSE than Vicks. His completion percentage is nearly the same, but his QB Rating is nearly 10 points less than Vicks. Schaub is expected to save a franchise with a line that can't save him from being put on his back more than a Houston harlot.

Wow alot of thoughts on this topic.
First off, I don't think that Pennington is over-rated. He has never been to a Pro-Bowl and in seasons when he is healthy the Jets have shown to be a better team despite his lack of arm strength. He's not one of the best in the game but no-one says he is either. He is competent though and a good leader.
Michael Vick clearly seems to merit mention here. Early in his career I would have rebuffed this notion since the Falcons were winning with Vick and that's the QB's main job (to win) but lately the Falcons seem to be a muddled mess.
Brett Favre is another name I see a lot but he simply did too much in his career to be over-rated. Is he great now? Not really but he did all he could with a lousy Packers team last year and almost got them to the playoffs. I will lay off Brett too.
Roethlisberger? No chance. 15-1 his rookie year and Super Bowl champions in year 2...Ok he was lousy last season but still way too much accomplished in 3 years to be overrated.
Nope, my vote goes to Eli Manning. Without the surname of Manning I doubt he is drafted ahead of Phillip Rivers or Roethlisberger (which in hindsite was a mistake) a few years ago. He has done nothing to date to make me think he is going to be a great NFL quarterback worthy of top pick honors. He has had the weapons (Shockey, Burress, Tiki Barber...) but never really seems to put the game on his shoulders and bring the offense to a new level. Plus he makes too many stupid plays (see Tenn game last year as example). I think in a few years, the Giants will look back at this Manning mess as nothing but bad. To think what they gave up to get him is sickening. Manning is just not good right now (and perhaps never will be).

Vick used to be overrated, but it seemed like the media, fans, etc... have turned on him in the last few years.
Vince Young was very overrated last year. I can't believe he won ROY over Colston. Young was very Vick like in fact. Of course Young was a rookie and can still become and pretty good QB and avoid the Vick trap. But he simply wasn't that good last year, no matter what the media says (and they seem to love scrambling QBs)
Eli Manning's also got problems, but it seems a lot of people have soured on him as well and no longer see him as great as they once did.

How could anyone mention JP as overrated. They don't even mention him when they talk about his QB class and he's at least better than Worthlesberger and Eli. Rivers is debatable.
My vote goes to Vince Young. He's Mike Vick 2.0, and will be only that unless he learns to play QB. Honorary mention goes to Tony Romo for being elected to the Pro Bowl for playing three good games....

I really think it's Michael Vick. He has a strong arm but not an accurate arm strength. He can really run but the only thing is that he fumbles the ball very often. Being a good quarterback also means having good awareness on the field, that's what's Vick needs to improve on to become a successful quarterback.
