Yesterday, I received a very vulguar telephone call from my ex-husband on my cell phone. He is very angry that the Child Support Division started deducted money from his payroll check.
He is over $5000 behind, so they took out the monthly amount plus extra for the arrearage amount.
The telephone call was so bad, that I made a police report for it to be on file with them.
The police officer felt it was kind of petty, but it is a big issue to me. I am trying to cover myself, just in case something happens.

Does anyone know of any other effective type of ways to deal with the harrassing phone calls?
I have changed my cell phone number once before because of calls from him, but I am a little reluctant to change the number because my kids have finally memorized this number.
As far as I know you can't block calls from coming in on your cell phone, or can you?

The police were wrong to downplay this kind of behavior - go to the Chief of police and speak with him/her about it.

Speak with your lawyer about the whole situation.

This is important because people can become dangerous. Keep filing the police reports and get the protective orders right away.

You might also petition the juvenile court to allow children only supervised visits with Dad as it's apparent that he means to do you and perhaps them harm. Use his threatening phone calls as evidence. Talk with your lawyer.

You can block phone calls this is what I had to do just call ur cell phone provider to get this set up also there is an option on cell phones where u can accept only calls on ur contacts list look into that as well.

Good luck

Yeah, stop taking his calls or if you have to take them, disconnect the second he starts acting stupid.
As far as what he is pissed over, he is a father not taking care of business. If he don't like things, he should not have been such a dead beat dad. You owe him no explanation or warning if he is not meeting his obligations. The children's needs should always come first!

tape record them and take them to your states attorneys office and file charges against him for harassment . then also take the tape to the phone company and have them bring charges against him as well . After that I dont think you will have any problems . also have your phone number changed and dont anwser it unless you know who it is and then let them leave a msg . I am sorry you have to live this way it is terrible is'nt it ? god bless you honey .

You can just have his number blocked if you don't need to talk to him. But... I don't know enough about your situation to know if that's the best advice.

Always be assertive ( not passive-agressive, not agressive) in all your communications with everyone . That is my general life advice.

Honestly I would change my number again.... This is for your safety and piece of mind.... I am sure your children are smart because they already have memorized one # .... They can do it again......
Do anything you think will prevent him from contacting you or approaching you....
This is for your safety....These things can spiral out of control beleive me......
