In my opinion, hockey is the best professional sport being played today.
Basketball has become a game of cry-babies and attention hogs.
Football is boring unless you enjoy one 5 second play each minute, numerous Time-outs, and too much chit-chat from the announcers. This is hardly a team sport too. The players love to celebrate alone so all the attention can be on them. No matter how minor the play was to begin with.
Baseball is not bad, but can be very boring.

You aren't really going to get the pulse of the general public if you ask, as you did, this question in the hockey category. Almost everyone here loves it. Check out some of the real questions and read the answers posted. You will have to filter through some of the haters and jack-holes, but you will see that 99% of the people here are fanatics of one team or another and the sport. Even us sad, poor, dejected Sabres fans on our darkest day still love hockey.

Hockey is the best sport Canada ever invented. The other two, basketball and football, combined together are only half of hockey.

Actually depends on how your team is playing!! Sabres fans must be hating the game now!! Since Buffalo stopped playing hockey as of late. But in all regards it is the best sport in the world!!

i actually love hockey. Very unusual for Asians because hockey wasnt big in Asia.

My friends and family say I make the phase Avid hockey fan look like an understatement so I'd say I LOVE HOCKEY.

Love it. So much fun to watch and play. Also I love it because even though the fan base is miniscule here in the US compared to football (which is my second-favorite sport), there's more of a chance of the fans being true, passionate fans. The fire doesn't die. Compare it to the entire NFL/college football fanbase, which is GIGANTIC, and because of that, a huge chunk of "fans" are nothing more than bandwagoning idiots.
