I feel bad. I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I check on my guinea pigs but my one guinea pig wasnt doing so well. He looked as if he were suffering. His eyes were barely open and he was all crunched up in a ball. He was not sleeping cause i moved him around and picked him up. I put him back in his cage but there was no luck. He was just sitting. He refused to eat and even play with his little buddy ( His son). His son lives in the same cage with his daddy and they never fight they just love each other. The poor son pig was just so upset. He tried his best to help his dad but the dad just wouldnt budge. I even gave the 2 there favorite food, Bannaas. Only the son would eat. Usually the father pig would go nuts for food. So, The dad is only 3. Anyway, Does anyone know whats wrong??

Guinea pigs are "prey" animals & will not let you know they're sick until they are too sick to hide it any longer.

Since your piggie is so obviously ill, he needs medical attention immediately. Once they're sick like that, they do not get well on their own. You must take him to the vet or he will die.

Sorry to be so blunt, but there is no other option. If you do nothing, he will definitely pass. At the minimum, he needs to be hand fed right now to keep his internal organs from shutting down. Please see a vet NOW!

You are also feeding them the wrong foods...bananas are not the right food to feed a guinea pig. Green leavy vegetables, tomatoes, cucumber and apples are fine...also a normal guinea pig mix should be offered.

Get piggy to the vet, STAT! If you are too strapped for cash to do anything extreme to save his life then tell the vet so and opt for compassionate care.
