We need to go longer, but how can we when we can't even get so many idiots to do it for just one day? If we aren't united, we aren't going to make a difference. People keep pointing out that if we bought yesterday and tomorrow that it is pointless not to buy today and that is true. We need to NOT drive if at all possible. I will not buy gas all week. I have to drive my son to school and baseball. I have a 4 year old that cannot walk across town and we don't have a public transportation system in this town. Something needs to be done. We are being raped and no one is doing anything about it.

Amen! NOW you are talking! Not only is this a good idea, but the 1 day strike is actually a DUMB idea. Even if EVERYONE participated, this has NO impact on the oil companies or gas stations, because it doesn't change how much gas they sell. All that happens is that people buy their gas a day earlier or a day later. That said, you CAN make a difference. If you really, really want to help lower gas prices, you have to STOP USING GAS. Period. If you are not willing to walk or take the bus more, then you are going to be wasting your time bothering to "boycott" by not buying gas. Changing the day you get gas makes no difference. Snopes.com covered this subject very well. The link is below.

We've been facing a government only interested in itself for many years and under many administrations. The crimes have been committed by the same self righteous clowns who are now screaming for other self righteuos clown's heads. That needs to change but has little bearing on fuel prices.
We are not going to accept giving up our comforts and there is no reason we should. Instead of trying to reverse progress you should be focusing on how to increase progress, how to be more efficient and how to produce energy cleanly and cheaply. It can be done and is a lot more rational than trying to force civilization to move backwards, something that simply will not happen.
Fuel prices are a function of supply and demand. So long as fuel is a finite resource and there is a demand for it the price will continue to rise, especially in view of the fact that we are going to run out of petroleum eventually. All the legislation, sacrifice and strikes in the world are not going to change that fact. Just the simple fact of population growth alone negates any and all conservation efforts. Instead, try changing things that can be changed. In other words, work towards energy sources that are not petroleum dependent and less finite in nature. That is the only way you are going to control energy prices. All the rest is no more than fluff and hyperbole.

The administration has nothing to do with gas prices. Stay on subject. The Congress has a better chance of lowering prices but the Demo will not do a thing. We are striking the gas companies.
