Cant you imagine they have punished themselves a thousand times over - Have any of you parents never taken you eyes off your child for just one second - Have you never left your child in the car at a petrol station while you pay for your petrol, have you never looked away for a second in a shop and lost them as they hide in a rack of clothes, have you never left them in the car when you nipped in a shop to get them a packet of crisps well there but for the grace of god could it be one of us. None of us have the right to criticise because they are suffering enough - no maybe we wouldnt leave our children alone in a hotel room while we are having a meal but we have all to some degree taken our eyes off of our children so let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Let us just hope that there is a happy ending similar to that that fills the heads of most 4 years old as in their minds everything has a happy ending

I am not saying I would leave my children in a hotel room while I go out for a meal however they are paying the highest price for their mistake

Brevejunkie - you are obviously a perfect parent then and are so compassionate too - it must be lovely to be so perfect - I am sure that your children will learn their compassionate and empathetic skills from you

Each parent on earth has some little blunder that has been done against their children....Keep in mind that no one ever makes the right decisions all of the time......I agree with boo....ye who is without sin cast the first stone, judge ye not lest ye be judged......leave the parents alone.....if there is something to be done the law will do it......and always keep in mind that someday it could be you......

I've never left my children alone in the car at the gas station. As much hassle as it is, I DO take them inside with me to pay. I don't let my kids run loose (they're 3 and 2, by the way) ANYWHERE other than the park, and I usually have my eyes on them at all times. Running loose while shopping? That's a joke--that's just asking for one of them to be kidnapped or run outside into the parking lot. I have never left them in the car to get them a snack of any kind. Actually, I've never left them in the car for ANY reason other than to stop and get the mail. Even then, the mailboxes are about 5 feet from the car door, and I lock the car while I sort through the mail.
I think what these "parents" (and no, they don't deserve the title of parent in my book--they're more like horrible, irresponsible babysitters) did by leaving their *three toddlers alone in a hotel room at night* (and in a strange, foreign country to boot!) was just--I can't think of a word harsh enough to describe their stupidity.
I hope these parents DO suffer for the rest of their lives. I hope their consciences get the better of them and they never forget about what their stupid, idiotic, moronic, neglectful judgment did to their daughter.
You, I and everyone else knows that Maddie McCann is dead. She's been gone almost two weeks. At this point she's probably been beaten, molested, killed and dumped somewhere.
The McCann's deserve to have their twins taken from them and placed in foster care. By abandoning their children in this hotel room for something as ridiculous as eating a dinner out (when the hotel offered a babysitting service, for Christ's sake!), they deserve everything they get.

the only guy or woman who can possibly effectively say she observed Madeliene final became into the worker on the creche, whilst the McCanns picked them up at 5:30pm There are additionally comments they went to dinner at 6:30pm with the little ones, yet this hasnt been shown (AFAIK). Even assuming this became into dazzling, then meaning for 3 and a a million/2 hours, purely the McCann and friends can declare to have seen her. As for Jane Tanner and her significant different Russell. nicely i think of there are adequate inconsistencies of their statements besides, so I wouldnt be taking her notice for something ........

Yes I have taken my eyes off of my young child, yes I have lost her in a store, but I have NEVER left her alone in an apartment with two 2-year-olds while I went out and enjoyed myself. That's just asking for trouble.

Leaving your kid in the hotel room for a meal? Parents should be thrown in jail for abandonment. You can't jail everyone for stupidity.
