Interesting question, unfortunately not so interesting of an answer. As a Libertarian, I would hope so...but hope is wasted on fools that don't want to do anything about it. For now, it doesn't look like 2008 is it. 2012 however looks very promising.
The current base isn't wide enough and the name isn't known enough. Two things need to happen...we need to recruit and we need to get the name out there. If BOTH of these don't happen soon then we can throw 2008 out of the window.
Mr. Imperato, of Palm Beach, thinks he can make a difference and actually win. He certainly has the funds and the know how. Not sure the army he needs behind him is there yet. This may be his opportunity to lay the ground work for 2012. If he actually pulls in enough votes to make a significant difference in the race it will highlight the coming of age for the Libertarian Party in the minds of the "common" folk.
By my calculations, if we don't do something to straighten out this country by 2008 then by 2012 we will be in complete disarray. It will take a Libertarian to put this country back in order. Be prepared to be responsible for your actions in the near future. The current government is going down - its just a matter of time.

Libertarians will return to the Republican fold enthusiastically in 2008 with a Rudy Giuliani for President Campaign. Rudy is a Centrist who leans libertarian.

Should be interesting to see what happens next year.
