Where did the term 5-0 come from?

I was just wondering where this term came from? If it is from the show "Hawaii 5-0, where did they get it from?

It did come from the TV show Hawaii 5-0.

5-0 was derived from the fact the Hawaii is the 50th state.

On the TV show 5-0 was the designation of a division of the state police.

It is from the TV police show Hawaii 50, and is because Hawaii is the 50th state in the union
