Someone E-Mailed me, recently. He stated that he was getting good responses. Because he was "exposing The Presidents haters"
..................(think about that).....................

My attempt at getting him to explain a reason for it? Has yet gone unanswered.

Our President is Elected with Votes. Not with how many haters are exposed. I suggest that we all take a look at our Priorites.

To the person who made that statement: Do you wish to show who you are? Respectfully explain how effective that's gonna be?

Can anyone explain how, `exposing the haters'. Can get either Party Elected? `Cause this old Redneck, can't figure it out.

The Power is in the Vote. Not the hatred!

Don't you agree?

This is quesitoning HIS logic. Not mine. And I see many who have that way of thinking. I don't understand that thought process. Can anyone justify it. Do you know anyone like that?

Earnest: A positive Message has to be a better way of getting someone to Vote. We're chasing away those who would help either side.

I cannot even begin to imagine what that person was referring to, other than to suggest he has gotten caught up in the Cons v. Libs warfare which seems to dominate this site.

I wonder how many of the regular users are already hard-core with whatever their views are and are completely closed to changing their mind. My guess is that number is high.

For myself, I am completely opposed to the Liberal agenda. I am encouraged that many of our Southern Democrats are also opposed to Liberalism taking over this nation.

Basically, I think the answer lies in education. Constitutional education is the only thing necessary to "expose the haters." Basically, these Liberals and their polls lack a basic appreciation for the fact that an unpopular president, duly elected, can only be removed for high crimes and misdemeanors (through a Congressional impeachment), and therefore, the hatred against the sitting president only serves to divide the country BASED ON A PERSON, and keeps us from focusing on the issues.

Based on that, I would say it is accurate to attempt to educate the haters, because they can only destroy our Constitutional process. I submit that is the goal of some.

Buzz, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by this . When someone exposes anyone's haters they are also exposing what's wrong about it . And when someone's wrongs are exposed, only the truth remains . And the truth is the best way to decide who to vote for !!

EDIT* - And another thing . Getting out the vote simply for getting out the vote is not a good idea in my opinion . Sure, I want people to vote, but I want people to be INFORMED first .
Our last election was filled with voters who only voted based on hatred and not information . That's the perfect example of why simply getting out the vote is a bad idea . Rational people would ASSUME that people who were motivated to vote, would logically be more informed, but it doesn't work that way in reality .

EDIT* - I see what happened . Some people are addressing "the power is in the vote, not the hatred" and I agree with that . But your actual question was a different point , " can anyone explain how 'exposing the haters' can get either party elected "? And that's what I was addressing . And I see that Nibbles sees it the same way as me .

I do agree, yes. And really, hatred for the President, at this point, has no effect on anything except this forum and others like it...and the state of mind of those who posess it. Hatred is not an action, it is an emotion. It can fuel actions...but I see none being taken. So the haters can be rounded up, if so chosen, but what can be done? And what should be done, really? Is this not a country that allows for freedom of speech? Since when is it unpatriotic to hate something that threatens your freedoms and negatively affects your way of life? I would suggest that those who seek to squelch the hater's rights are the ones who are unAmerican and unpatriotic.

Hate, like love, subjugates a person. You've heard the saying, 'I was looking through the eyes of love and blind as a bat.' Same goes for hate. Strong emotion distorts facts.

That goes for all sides--hate for the President's opposition as well as those who hate him. If one is using either of those emotions to motivate them to vote, they are voting AGAINST a candidate, or party, and not voting FOR someone they believe in. Choosing the lesser of two evils is a sell-out and a disservice to all Americans.

That said, I'm not sure how exposing hate for the President or his opponents will help get voters to the poles. Furthermore, if it's hate that gets them there, I'm not sure they are in the right frame of mind to make responsible decisions.

We live in an era of enormous information, right or wrong, and it's available at our fingertips anytime we want it. We all seem willing to use that information to suit us, without regard to the source. We've turned into a bunch of "See, I told you," children.

Indeed, I do agree.

As for "haters," that's a moving target for many people on either extreme, I think, just like those stupid "libs" and "cons" labels. I think the true "hater" is quite a rare beast, but I think a president's critics are legion.

------------

I read your additional comments, and frankly I think you're beating a dead horse. Consider it this way: there are those for whom a negative message travels faster and deeper than a positive one. What is the most effective political advertising (at least, within the past generation): negative campaigns, mudslinging, insults... ANYTHING but true, solid platform information. What leads on the 6 o'clock news? Negative stories -- murder, rape, etc.

Good, positive news simply doesn't have the legs. That said, there are those who are angry, abusive and opportunistic enough to enjoy spreading their abuse.

Delete it, walk away, and deny others the opportunity to make their baggage your baggage.

And good luck.

But the power of the vote is in the EDUCATED vote....to just go out and vote for the sake of it is just.....well stupid.

I cannot believe the amount of hatred that is being permitted to fester and grow in this country. There really is NO point in the daily hate-mongering of the current US President.

The only way to change policies is to change it with an EDUCATED vote...not to vote out of SPITE!

i agree with what you are attempting. i'm not sure you are going about it the right way. calling it a disaster if a democrat gets elected is bashing dems. how about we encourage research of the candidates and forget blind partisanship. dropping any label besides American would be helpful too.

I agree. Unfortunately some people know nothing but to hate what does not comply with their thought pattern and/or views.

I am not pointing fingers, I am making a general statement.

It isn't logical. Hate only breeds more hate. I agree that the power is the vote. Peace be with you Buzz.
